Andrew Jackson fought in both the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. During his presidency, he mainly worked on removing Indians from the frontier, and made the "Specie Circular" along with letting the 2nd bank of the U.S. die out, both of which contributed to the Depression.

Due to questionable decisions he made during his term, people either loved him or hated him. Andrew Jackson is also on the 20 dollar bill and was the first president born in a log cabin and had lived on the frontier.

President Andrew Jackson was born March 15, 1767. He was born in Waxhaw, SC. He served 8 years as president. Andrew never knew his father and all of his brothers died at war. He didn't go to school instead he was privately tutored. Andrew never had children so he adopted a son and named him Andrew Jr.

When Andrew Jackson was president some of the important things he did was when South Carolina threatened to drop out of the union, he wouldn't permit them. He fired 2,000 federal office holders and gave their jobs to his followers. After Andrew Jackson was President he returned to the Hermitage, got dropsy, he rode horseback in the mornings, and watched his cotton field. Andrew Jackson died on June 8, 1845.

Some interesting facts about Andrew Jackson was that he was very hot tempered and he is on the $20 bill. He also taught school.His nickname was Old Hickory. His parents were Irish and he was Presbyterian. In 1791 he married Rachel Donelson Robards.
